Since the CTL1,2 jack on the FS-1-WL unit is for input, you cannot connect it to the CTL jack of an external device.
Connecting an external footswitch ( FS-5U, FS-6, or FS-7, sold separately) to the CTL1,2 jack allows you to control different MIDI/HID data from the pedal switch on the unit.
