3. Press the number 6 key.
4. Press the DEC/INC buttons to select "orG" in the display.
5. Press ENTER.
6. Power the PCR-1 off, and back on.
7. Download and install the PCR-1 USB driver for your computer and connect the USB cable. You can download the latest drivers from our website here.
Make sure you download the driver that corresponds to the type of computer you have (Mac or Windows-based) and the version of operating system you are using. Once downloaded, you will need to run the setup application to install the driver into your system. This may include re-starting your computer.
8. Confirm that the USB driver is installed correctly and that the computer is communicating correctly with the A-Pro.
- On a Macintosh, look in the Audio MIDI Setup utility and confirm that the PCR-1 is listed in the MIDI Studio window as well as the Audio Device window.
- On a PC, open the Device Manager and confirm that the PCR-1 is listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers."
9. Activate or enable the PCR-1 in your music software. You will need to consult with the documentation for your specific application for this, but usually there is a preferences menu where you will need to enable the PCR-1 so it can be used by your software.
Note: The last USB drivers released for the PCR-1 supported Windows 7 and OSX 10.5 (Leopard). If you have a newer operating system, you can still use the MIDI functionality of the PCR-1 (but not the Audio functionality) by changing the USB driver setting to "Generic." Here are the steps:
1. Press the EDIT button.
2. Press the System key.
3. Press the number 6 key.
4. Press the DEC/INC buttons to select "Gen" in the display.
5. Press ENTER.
6. Power the PCR-1 off, and back on.
You can now connect the PCR-1 to your computer and it will function as a "Class Compliant" MIDI device and can be used with your music software as a MIDI controller.
