The FP-80 can record your performances as Standard MIDI files, or as Audio files, and in either case you can record with the backing rhythm if you choose to do so.
Recording an Audio file
Connect a USB drive to the FP-80.
Hold down the REC button and use the +/- buttons to select "AUDIO" in the screen.
Select the tone you wish to record with.
Press the SONG or RHYTHM button so it is lit. This will determine if your recording will be with (RHYTHM) or without (SONG) the backing rhythm.
Press the REC button so it is lit.
Press the start/stop button. At this point recording starts and you can record your performance.
Press the start/stop button when you have finished recording your performance.
Recording an Standard MIDI File
Hold down the REC button and use the +/- buttons to select "SMF" in the screen.
Select the tone you wish to record with.
Press the SONG or RHYTHM button so it is lit. This will determine if your recording will be with (RHYTHM) or without (SONG) the backing rhythm.
Press the REC button so it is lit.
Press the start/stop button. At this point recording starts and you can record your performance.
Press the start/stop button when you have finished recording your performance.
