There are two steps to set up a pedal to control the speed (fast/slow) of the Rotary effect in the FA-06/07/08:
- First, edit the Rotary effect so that a MIDI control message is used to switch the slow/ fast setting. You will assign a MIDI controller message for this (CC00-CC0127).
- Next, program the foot pedal to transmit the same MIDI controller message (CC00-CC127). This will allow it to toggle the slow/fast setting.
For example, to use CC04 (Foot Type) for this. You will first edit the MFX to set this up:
- Press MENU.
- Cursor to "Effects Edit" and press ENTER.
- Press the #2 button under the screen (which says "MFX" on the screen above it) to go to the MFX edit screen.
- Rotate the dial to select one of the Rotary effects (#19-21).
- Press the right arrow button to select the "MFX Control" tab at the top of the screen.
- Cursor to "Source 1" and use the value dial to select "CC04 (Foot Type)."
- Cursor to "Destination 1" and use the value dial to select "Speed."
- Cursor to "Sens 1" and use the value dial to select "+64."
- Press Exit twice to return to the main play screen.
This sets up your Rotary effect to be switched by CC04. Now set up the foot pedal to transmit this message.
- Press MENU.
- Cursor to "Studio Set Common" and press ENTER.
- Use the left / right arrow buttons to select the "Pedal" tab at the top of the screen.
- Cursor to "Pedal Source Assign" and use the value dial to select "STUDIO."
- Cursor to "Pedal 1" and use the value dial to select "CC04 (Foot Type)."
- Connect your pedal to the "CTRL 1" input on the back panel of the keyboard.
The pedal should now control the speed of the rotary effect. If you wish to save these settings, you need to save your studio set.
