The Pad Copy feature in the SPD-30 allows you to copy sounds (instruments) individually from the pads in one kit to another kit. The basic process is to "copy" the sound assignment of a pad in a kit, and then "paste" the sound into another kit. Here's how:
1. First, choose the kit that contains the sound that you want to copy.
2. Hit the desired pad that has the sound that you want to copy.
3. Press the QUICK button.
4. Use the function 2 knob to highlight "COPY," and then press the function 3 button (OK).
5. Turn the function 2 knob to choose "Pad," and then press function 3 (OK). This copies the pad.
6. Press the (< /> ) buttons to choose the new kit that you want to copy the sound to.
7. Hit the pad that you want to copy to.
8. Press the QUICK button.
9. Use the function 2 knob to highlight "Paste," and then press the function 3 button (OK).
10. Turn function 2 to highlight "Pad," and then press function 3 (OK).
The new sound is now copied to your selected pad location in the new kit.
