The SPD::ONE KICK (SPD-1K) can only import one WAV file, 16-bit at 44.1 kHz, into memory location "12." If your file will not import, check the following causes.
Cause 1: The file does not meet the format or length requirements
- Format: 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV only
- Maximum length: 5 seconds
- Only one user sample can be stored at a time
- Stereo files are automatically converted to mono
If your file exceeds these limits, convert or trim it before importing.
Cause 2: The connection procedure was not followed correctly
The unit will not appear as a storage device unless you hold down the [INST VARIATION] button while connecting the micro-USB cable. Also confirm the cable supports data transfer; charge-only cables will not work.
Cause 3: The file contains embedded metadata ("tags")
If the file already meets the format and length requirements above and still will not import, it may contain embedded metadata from a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), other audio software, or a sample library. To remove this metadata:
- Convert the file to Apple Lossless or FLAC format.
- Convert that file back to WAV, 16-bit, 44.1 kHz.
