The FA-06, FA-07, and FA-08 can import and play back audio files from the sample pads. The following formats can be used:
- WAV: 8/16/24-bit, 44.1/48/96kHz sample rate
- AIFF: 8/16/24-bit, 44.1/48/96kHz sample rate
- MP3: 64/80/96/112/128/160/192/224/256/320kbps bit rage, 44.1kHz sample rate
Here are the steps to import and use an audio file in the FA-06/07/08:
- Remove the SD card from the FA-06/07/08 and connect to your computer (you may need a separate card reader for this).
- Copy the audio file(s) to the IMPORT folder on the SD card.
- Disconnect the SD card from your computer and plug it back into the slot on the FA-06/07/08.
- Power on the FA-06/07/08.
- Press the PAD UTILITY button.
- Press the number 5 button under the screen ("Sample Import").
- Use the dial to select the file you wish to import, then press the number 7 button under the screen ("Select").
- Press a PAD (1-16) to select the destination for your audio file.
- Press the number 7 button under the screen ("Execute").
- Press the number 7 button under the screen again ("OK").
You can now press the PAD you assigned the sample to in step 8 to trigger the playback of your audio file.
Note: Remember that samples are saved with the currently selected song, so you will need to note the song you currently have loaded, and then make sure to re-load this song when you need to play back this audio file. Songs can contain up to 64 samples / audio files.
