The TD-50X contains numerous detailed sound editing parameters. One of them is called "Mic Position." Adjusting this parameter replicates the change in sound that you would experience if you had microphones placed near an acoustic drum kit, and you were to move their position closer or further away from the drums.
There are no specific or recommended settings for the Mic Position parameter in the TD-50X, so it's best to experiment with the different settings until you get the desired sound. The Mic Position can be adjusted and saved in each Kit. Here's how to access the Mic Position setting:
-
- Choose a Kit to edit.
- Press the AMBIENCE button.
- Press the PAGE DOWN button to select Page 3 (3 ROOM).
- Press the [F1] button to select the ROOM tab.
- Press [F4] to select "ROOM ON."
- Cursor to highlight the currently selected Room Type.
- Turn the main dial to choose "TD-50 ROOM."
- Cursor down to highlight "Mic Position."
- Turn the main dial or press the +/- buttons to choose the desired setting - (NEXT DOOR, LOW FLOOR, LOW, MID LOW, MID, MID HIGH, HIGH, CEILING A, CEILING B).
- Press the KIT button when you're finished. The new Mic Position setting is saved in the Kit automatically.
