Crosstalk (X-Talk) Cancel is a sensitivity adjustment parameter in the TD-50 that helps to prevent crosstalk triggering between the pads. Crosstalk may occur when you strike a pad, and the pad closest to it is triggered as well. Raising the X-Talk value for the pad that's being triggered by the other can help prevent crosstalk. Here's how to access and adjust the X-Talk Cancel parameter:
1. Press the TRIGGER button.
2. Press the PAGE DOWN button to choose PAGE 3 ("3 TRIG MONITOR").
3. Press the F2 button to select the X-TALK tab.
4. Cursor down to highlight the value for Head/Rim Adjust.
5. Hit the pad that you want to adjust the X-Talk Cancel for. For example, if you strike a tom pad, and it happens to trigger a cymbal pad at the same, hit the cymbal pad to select it.
6. Turn the dial to increase the X-TALK value (0-80). A higher value will prevent crosstalk for that pad. Note: Using very high values of X-Talk may affect that pad's trigger performance. If triggering efficiency is affected, lower the X-TALK value.
7. You can repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the remaining pads, but only if needed.
8. Press the EXIT button when you're finished. The new settings are saved automatically.
