You can record your performance on the Roland TD-02K or TD-02KV using the following methods.
Use DAW software to record what you play (MIDI and audio)
Connect the TD-02 to your computer with a USB cable to transmit and receive MIDI and audio data. Set the MIDI track or audio track input to "TD-02".
- A USB cable is not included. Use a commercially available USB cable that supports data transfer, not a charge-only cable.
- To transmit or receive USB audio, install the USB driver. In SYSTEM settings, set "USBDrv" to "VENDOR", then turn the power off and on again. A USB driver is not required for MIDI data alone.
- Refer to your DAW's manual for MIDI track or audio track input settings.
Recording external audio mixed with your performance
Audio input to the MIX IN jack is not sent to your computer via USB audio. If you want to record external audio (such as music from a mobile device) mixed with your performance, connect an external audio interface as shown below instead.
- The audio interface and cables shown are examples only. Have ready an audio cable (without resistors) that's appropriate for the audio interface you're using.
- Note that this unit does not feature Bluetooth functionality on its own. The Bluetooth Audio MIDI Dual Adaptor BT-DUAL (sold separately) must be attached to use Bluetooth.
Recording to an external recorder (audio)
Use an audio cable to connect the OUTPUT/PHONES jack of the TD-02 to the input jack of your external recorder.
- Use an audio cable that does not contain resistors.
- USB audio does not support parallel output.
