You can connect a pad to the Roland TD-02K or TD-02KV if it is listed in the "PAD Type" list of the TD-02 Owner's Manual. Check the following points before you swap a pad.
- The TD-02K and TD-02KV stands are designed for the pads included with the set. To use a pad that is not included, you need a mount or stand that fits that pad.
- Reselect the PAD Type after you change a pad.
- Roland has not confirmed operation for pads not listed in the "PAD Type List" of the TD-02 Owner’s Manual.
- The TD-02 does not support strike position detection. The sound does not change based on where you strike the pad, even if the pad itself supports this.
- The toms (T1–T3) on the TD-02 do not support rim shots.
For details on swapping the sound module, see “Can I Use a Different Sound Module Instead of the TD-02?”.
To add the OP-TD1C cymbal set as a second crash cymbal (CR2), or use a CY-13R instead of the CY-5, see "How do I use the CR2 dedicated connection cable?".
