You can use the SH-4d’s step sequencer to record and play back up to 64 steps (64 notes) per pattern. The patterns are organized as shown in the illustration below. You can record and play back five tracks per pattern.
The step sequencer features shuffle, scale, undo, redo and other functions, so that you can record the motions of the controllers in real time as motion data.
* Control change messages (CC) from an external input are also recorded.
