The SH-4d lets you play arpeggios using MIDI messages fed from the MIDI IN jack or USB port instead of pressing the keyboard buttons on the unit.
Required MIDI settings on the SH-4d unit
- Remote Kbd
-Select the jack from which MIDI messages are fed into.
- MIDI IN: Use a MIDI device connected to the MIDI IN jack
- USB: Use input from a computer connected via USB
NOTE: The USB Type-C® port on the SH-4d does not have USB host feature, so you cannot use MIDI controllers connected via USB.
- Ctrl Ch
-Match with the MIDI transmit channel of the external MIDI keyboard or DAW.
Required MIDI settings on the external MIDI keyboard or DAW
- MIDI transmit channel
- Match with the "Ctrl Ch" of SH-4d.
Follow the steps below.
- Hold down the [SHIFT] button and press the [16] button.
The MENU screen appears. - Use the [1] knob to move the cursor to "SYSTEM SETTINGS", then pless the [ENTER] button.
- Turn the [1] knob to move the cursor to "Remote Kbd" in the MIDI menu, then turn the [2] knob to select "MIDI IN" or "USB".
-Select the jack you wish to feed MIDI messages for playing arpeggios. - Turn the [1] knob to move the cursor to "Ctrl Ch" in the MIDI menu, then turn the [2] knob to select a value other than "OFF".
-Select the transmit channel that is the same as the external MIDI keyboard or DAW. - Press the [EXIT] button twice to return to the previous screen.
-Changes made to SYSTEM SETTINGS are automatically saved.
