The FS-1-WL can be used with the Aerophone AE-20, AE-20W or AE-30 (hereinafter "Aerophone") with a wireless (Bluetooth) connection. Here is a chart showing the messages you can set on the FS-1-WL and the parameters on the Aerophone they will control:
Some of these parameters are more useful than others when using a footswitch - such as CC20 (Scene Up) and CC21 (Scene Down). Something like CC07 (Volume) will be more useful if you are using an expression pedal like the EV-1-WL.
Note: You will need to use the separate FS-1-WL Editor App on your smartphone or tablet to set and change these messages on the FS-1-WL.
Once you have the messages set for your needs, you can then pair the FS-1-WL with the Aerophone.
Turn on Bluetooth on the Aerophone:
- Press MENU
- Use the +/- buttons to select "Bluetooth."
- Press MENU, then use the +/- buttons to select "On."
- Press the SCENE UP or SCENE DOWN button to exit the Menu.
Power on the FS-1-WL and pair it with the Aerophone:
- Move the power switch on the back of the FS-1-WL to the "MIDI" position - the power LED will come on.
- Double click the "INSTRUMENT button on the back of the FS-1-WL, the white LED will start to blink indicating that the FS-1-WL is ready to pair, and will then light solid (not blinking) to indicate that it has paired with the Aerophone. You will also see a short message on the Aerophone ("MIDI Online") indicating that it has paired with the FS-1-WL.
You can now use the FS-1-WL with your Aerophone.
Troubleshooting
If the FS-1-WL does not seem to be pairing with the Aerophone (LED keeps flashing and not going solid), this is most likely because the Aerophone is already paired to another device (maybe the editor on a phone or tablet). In this is the case, you can reset the Bluetooth connection on the Aerophone:
- Press MENU
- Use the +/- buttons to select "Bluetooth Reset."
- Press MENU, then use the + buttons to select "YES."
- Press MENU to Confirm the operation.
The Bluetooth settings in the Aerophone will be reset and you can the power off and back on the Aerophone and pair to the FS-1-WL.
