If your SH-4d is not appearing as an audio or MIDI device in your DAW or recording software, follow the steps below based on your operating system.
For Windows Users:
When connecting the SH-4d to a Windows 10/11 computer, the driver is usually installed automatically via USB. If the SH-4d does not appear in your DAW, it may be due to the driver not installing properly. In such cases, or if you're using a computer without an internet connection, you can download and install the Windows driver manually.
For Mac Users:
On a Mac, the SH-4d driver must be installed manually to connect the unit as an audio or MIDI device. If the SH-4d does not appear in your DAW or recording software, ensure that you have downloaded and installed the driver.
Important Note:
- Make sure to use a USB cable that supports data transfer. Some USB charging cables do not support data communication, which may prevent the SH-4d from being recognized by your computer or DAW.
- You can download the SH-4d driver for both Windows and Mac from the following website: https://roland.cm/sh-4d_dl
