All current Roland pads are compatible with the TD-50X.* For optimum trigger results, it's best to match the Trigger Type with the model of the pad/trigger that's connected to each input. Doing so optimizes the sensitivity settings for that pad.
From the factory, the Trigger Types are already preassigned for the TD-50K2, TD-50KV2, and VAD-706 kits, however if you're adding an additional pad to the kit, or changing one of the pads out for a different model, follow these Steps to set the Trigger Type for it:
- Press the TRIGGER button.
- Press F1(BANK).
- Hit the pad/trigger to select the input.
- Turn the dial to choose the appropriate Trigger Type. For example, if you're connecting a PDA140F pad, choose "PD140F."
- Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for any other pads as needed.
- Press EXIT when you're finished. The new settings are saved automatically.
*For the most up-to-date Trigger Type list, be sure to have the latest version installed in your TD-50X, which you can find available here;
