・Do not disconnect the USB cable.
・Do not turn off the computer, go into standby or hibernation state, or reboot it.
- Download the "RC-30 Factory Restore Data":
BOSS - RC-30 | Loop Station - Locate the download in the default location, Downloads folder on your macOS or Windows computer. Unarchive/extract the downloaded folder, "r30_demo_data":

- macOS: Double-click the file to unzip it.
-rc3_demo_phrases folder appears.
- Insert a 1/4" TS mono instrument/guitar cable plug into the OUTPUT L jack to turn power on the RC-30.
NOTE: We recommend using new dry alkaline AA batteries or an AC adaptor (PSA series, sold separately) to prevent power loss during operation. - Connect the RC-30 to the computer with a USB 2.0 A to B cable, directly to a USB 2.0 A port on the computer, for best connectivity:
-The computer recognizes the RC-30 as an external drive, and the display on the RC-30 indicates “Cn.” - Open the “BOSS_RC-30” drive, and then locate and open the WAVE folder.
The WAVE folder will show a directory of folders associated to each RC-30 Memory Location 1-99, and containing folders for Tracks 1 and 2 for each Memory location. You may copy/paste, drag/drop, and place WAV audio files of the correct specs into these Track folders, to load them into the proper location on your RC-30. - Open the "rc30_demo_data" folder > open the ROLAND Folder > then open the WAVE folder, and copy the "090_1.WAV" - "099_1.WAV" you want to restore to any of the "090_1" to "099_1" folders under the WAVE folder of the BOSS_RC-30 drive.
NOTE: Do not place more than one WAV file in any folder. If a folder already contains a WAV file, do not overwrite it. Write your WAV files into empty folders. - Confirm that copying is complete, then:
- Windows: See "Safely remove hardware in Windows" (Microsoft).
Right mouse click the BOSS_RC-30 drive, and choose EJECT. - Mac: Drag the RC-30 icon on the desktop into Trash to EJECT,
or right mouse click the BOSS_RC-30 drive, and choose EJECT.
- Windows: See "Safely remove hardware in Windows" (Microsoft).
- Disconnect the USB cable from the computer, or from the RC-30.
- When the display indicates “dC” and the [RHYTHM ON/OFF] button blinks, then press the [RHYTHM ON/OFF] button, wait for the newly introduced WAV audio files to load into the RC-30, then it will return to normal operation. After the WAV audio files have loaded, check and test the playback of each.
