The DM-101 can save up to 127* Memory patches.
By default, only Memory patches 1-4 are available, and the user is limited to cycling this range sequentially, by using the onboard MEMORY footswitch.
How many Memory patches available, is dependent on the "Memory Extent Max."
The user may customize, and set the Memory Extent Max, please review the following to adjust the Memory Extent Max to allow access to Memory patches 5-127.** Once the user has adjusted the Memory Extent Max to a higher value, more Memory patches will be available and the MEMORY footswitch may be used to access and cycle through more Memory patches 5-127. Since using a single MEMORY footswitch may be inefficient, and slow, the user may want to implement some alternative methods of accessing Memory patches 5-127.
- Access/navigate Memory patches via externally connected BOSS FS-6/FS-7 A/B dual footswitch connected via 1/4" TRS stereo cable to the CTL1/2, EXP jack of the DM-101.
Program the CTL1/2 Functionality for the BOSS FS-6/FS-7*** to control Memory patch navigation: up/down or increase/decrease. This can be used in coordination with the onboard MEMORY footswitch, or separately. For the BOSS FS-6 and FS-7 cable connections and settings please review, "Connecting External Pedals"****.
- Access/navigate Memory patches via MIDI:
*Note: When selecting Memory patches 5-127, you need to connect an external MIDI control device, and send MIDI Program Change messages (PC#: 5-127) to access those patches.
Connect a MIDI controller, or other compatible MIDI device, to the DM-101 MIDI IN jack.
Use a 3.5mm / 1/8" TRS MIDI connecting adapter cable, if using an external device, that only supports a 5-pin MIDI OUT jack.
(For example TRS MIDI cables, sold separately: BMIDI-5-35, BMIDI-1-35, BCC-1-3535).
Send MIDI Program Change numbers (PC#5-127) from the external MIDI controller/device, corresponding to the Memory patch number, you wish to recall on the DM-101.
Please review the DM-101 Reference Manual sections below:
- *See "MIDI Settings" for details when connecting an external MIDI device.
