On the SPD-SX PRO, you can assign the Tap Tempo function to any of the on-board pads, external triggers, or footswitches using the CONTROL SETUP menu.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Cursor to highlight the SYSTEM tab.
- Use the cursor buttons to select "CONTROL SETUP" and press the [ENTER] button.
- Press [F1] (PAD) to assign to an on-board pad, [F2] (TRIG IN) for an external trigger, or [F3] (FOOT SW) for a footswitch.
- Use the cursor [▲] [▼] buttons to select the desired pad or trigger, or simply hit it.
- Use the [-] [+] buttons to select "TAP TEMPO".
- Press the [KIT] button when you're finished.
The new setting is saved automatically.
You can now tap in rhythm on the selected pad and have it control the tempo of the Click.
