Gigcaster 8: Can I record and assign directly to a sound pad?

You cannot directly record to a sound pad or assign audio to it. To assign audio to a desired pad, convert  the recorded data and export it, then assign it to the pad using the Gigcaster8 GCS-8 App (Windows, macOS).

Perform the steps below:

Exporting the Recorded Data

*Before launching the app, install the USB driver compatible with the operating system in advance.

1. Record audio to the microSD card.
   -Before using a microSD card on the GCS-8, you must format the microSD card.
2. Install the Gigcaster8 GCS-8 App.
3. Connect the Gigcaster 8 unit to the computer via USB.
4. Launch the app.
5. Click the "SD CARD" icon on the top of the app's screen.
6. Click the file icon to open the GCS-8_EXT folder.
   
7. Select the WAV file you wish to assign and click [Open].
8. Click [EXPORT].
9. Select the destination for the export.
10. Click [OK] when exporting is completed.
11. Click [CLOSE].

Assigning audio file on your computer to the pad

1. Click PAD.
   
2. Select the BANK of the pad to which you want to assign the audio file.
   
3. Select the pad.
4. Click [FILE].
5. Select the exported audio file and click [Open].
   -You can preview the audio by clicking the pad.
6. Set up other parameters as needed and click [APPLY].
