The AUTO REC function on the RC-505mkII is only available when a signal is received by the instrument or microphone inputs. To trigger recording from a DAW or USB MIDI device, use the ASSIGN function to record-enable a track by sending a MIDI Control Change message.
The following example assigns MIDI CC#1 to start recording on Track 2.
- Press the [MENU] button and navigate to "ASSIGN."
- Select any assign from "ASSIGN1" to "ASSIGN16" and set the following parameters:
- SW: ON
- SOURCE: MIDI CC#01
- SOURCE MODE: MOMENTARY
- TARGET: TRK2 REC/PLY
Note: There are 16 assigns available per memory, so you can configure assigns for record, play, stop, and more. Available MIDI CC numbers are CC#01–31 and CC#64–95. For details on the ASSIGN parameters, refer to the Parameter Guide.
