Gigcaster 8: How to Record Audio to a microSD Card

The Gigcaster 8 can record audio directly to a microSD card. This makes the Gigcaster 8 a simple solution to record anything, anywhere.

Before using a microSD card on the Gigcaster 8, you'll need to format the card. See "Gigcaster 8: How to Format a microSD Card."

When recording, you can either record the same two-channel mix (stereo) that’s output from the (MAIN OUT) jack, or record each channel’s audio as individual tracks (multi-track).

1. On the home screen, touch <  > (SD card button). The SD CARD screen is shown.
   
2. Select the recording method from the MULTITRACK parameter on the SD CARD screen.
   
   

1. Press the button. The button lights up red and audio recording begins.
   The elapsed recording time is shown on the home screen.
   
2. To finish recording, long-press the  button.

1. When you press the button while recording, the recording is paused.
2. When paused, press the button to resume recording (the button lights up red).

You can add a “mark” to the recorded data by pressing the button while recording. You can use marks when editing the recorded data on your DAW or other software.

1. On the SD CARD screen, touch <PLAYBACK>.
2. Touch PLAY. The recorded audio is played back.
