You can control the volume of specific Zones without affecting other Zones using an expression pedal connected to the CTRL 1 or CTRL 2 connectors.
Note: Roland recommends using the EV-5, BOSS EV-30, or FV-500 pedals with the FANTOM series.
In this example, an expression pedal is connected to CTRL 1.
Set the CTRL 1 Input to control volume
- Press MENU, then touch "SYSTEM" on the touchscreen.
- Use the E1 knob select the tab labelled "PEDAL" on the left side of the screen.
- Use the E2 knob to select "Pedal Assign Source" and then use the value dial to set this to "SYS." This makes this setting Global for all Scenes.
- Use the E2 knob to select "Pedal 1 Assign" then use the value dial to select CC07:VOLUME.
- Press WRITE to save this setting, then press EXIT several times to return to the main screen.
Select the Zone(s) that will respond to the pedal
- Press MENU, then touch "ZONE EDIT" on the touchscreen.
- Use the E1 knob to select the tab labelled "PEDAL CTRL" on the left side of the screen.
- Under CTRL 1, touch the screen to turn the CTRL 1 button of a Zone ON or OFF. When set to ON, the corresponding Zone will respond when using the expression pedal and the volume of that Zone will be raised or lowered. When set to OFF, the corresponding Zone will NOT respond when using the expression pedal and the volume of that Zone will remain unaffected.
- To save this setting, press WRITE and touch SCENE to save the Scene.
