Yes, the GM-800 does allow for alternate tunings.
You can use alternate tunings by adjusting the STRING settings in a SCENE, or via the GK SETTING parameters. When making GK SETTING parameter adjustments, you can save up to 20 individual GK SETTINGS to tailor your GM-800 to easily recall different settings for a single guitars/bass, or multiple different guitars/bass using the GK SETTINGS.
Here's how to set up alternative tunings via STRING settings.
- With the part edit screen on the GM-800 display, use the SELECT knob to move the cursor to STRING.
- Use the PAGE RIGHT [>] button to scroll through the parameters until you see ALT. TUNE.
- Press KNOB 1 to engage ALT. TUNE.
- Turn KNOB 2 to scroll through the available tunings.
- Press the [WRITE] button.
- Use the corresponding knob to WRITE, EXCHANGE or INSERT your settings to your chosen part.
Note: INITIALIZE will erase the part.
To adjust your GK SETTINGS to alternative tuning.
- Press the [MENU] button.
- Press KNOB 3 to access GK SETTINGS.
- With GK SET highlighted, choose the GK SET you would like to make settings for by turning KNOB 1.
- Use the SELECT KNOB to scroll down and highlight the bottom line.
- Using KNOB 2, select your TU.STYLE
Note: USER is not available in GK SETTINGS
These settings are saved automatically in the GM-800's SYSTEM and do not need saving.
