Please perform the following in order to upload .SDZ Expansion packs from Roland Cloud to your GM-800. This process will require both your computer and a USB Flash Drive that can be formatted.
After confirming your GM-800 hardware's firmware version is up-to-date, you'll need to acquire a USB Flash Drive and format this drive using the GM-800.
How To Tell the Version:
Please check the version of the system working on your GM-800 before downloading the archive file.
- While holding down [ EXIT ] button, turn power ON.
Continue to hold down EXIT until the GM-800 logo appears on the display. - After a short while, the version information appears on the display.
After verifying the displayed version, turn off the power.

Once you've formatted the flash drive using the GM-800, please connect this flash drive to a USB port on your computer that is using Roland Cloud Manager Program. This drive should automatically be named GM-800 by default after formatting.
- Go to the Roland Cloud Manager and download either a Sound Pack (SDZ Files) and/or an Expansion Pack (EXZ Files).
At this current time, only 4 EXZ Expansions can be loaded to the GM-800 at any given time. You can always off load these EXZ Packs from the GM-800 and swap them for other packs if you choose. - Once you've downloaded one of these pack, you'll need to extract the specific file (.EXZ or .SDZ) and, using either the drag/drop or copy/paste method, add these files to the drive you've formatted for GM-800.


For EXZ Files, please move these files to the area outside the folder marked ROLAND.
For SDZ Files, please add them to the folder marked SOUND PACK.
Like shown in the directory below.
- Eject, the GM-800 flash drive from your computer using the EJECT function.
- Connect the drive to the USB MEMORY connector on the back of the GM-800.
ADDING EXPANSIONS and SOUND PACKS from the USB MEMORY to the GM-800 HARDWARE - - Press MENU button and then PAGE> until USB MEMORY appears on-screen, press KNOB 1 under USB MEMORY.
- Select where to import the sounds.
For SDZ Files:- Please press KNOB 3 for IMPORT TONE
- Highlight the .SDZ file sound pack you wish to import.
- Press the SELECT KNOB on the top panel.
- Select where you'd like to save your specific sound of the pack.

TARGET is where the tone is being saved in the HARDWARE, IMPORT TONE is the specific TONE of the SOUND PACK you'd like to save. - Turn KNOB 2 to select your TARGET, Press KNOB 2 to check off the INIT TONE destination.
- Turn KNOB 3 to select your IMPORTED TONE, press KNOB 3 to check off the imported tone you'd like to write to INIT Tone.
You can CHECK mark multiple IMPORT TONES from the SDZ file to occupy multiple INIT TONE slots. Once finished selecting, press the SELECT KNOB.
- Press KNOB 4 to select OK and begin the import process.
Screen will display EXECUTING... and will display COMPLETED when finished. Please do not power down the unit while screen displays EXECUTING... - Once this process is done, you can access these imported tones under each of the 1-4 PARTS TONE BROWSE MENU, these tones will be stored under the USER CATEGORY.

You're now ready to play your SOUND PACKS!
- Please press KNOB 3 for IMPORT TONE
For EXZ Files
- Press KNOB 4 for EXPANSION.
- Use either of the KNOBS 1-2 to select which Expansion pack you want to import.
- Press KNOB 1 and then press the SELECT KNOB.

The screen will ask, ARE YOU SURE? Then press KNOB 4 for OK select.
Screen will display EXECUTING... and will display COMPLETED when finished.
Please do not power down the unit while screen displays EXECUTING...
When Expansion packs are loaded into the GM-800, they will be given their own CATEGORY in each PART 1-4 under TONE BROWSE.
You're ready to start using your Expansion Packs from Roland Cloud!
