It's possible to import your own samples (sounds) into the TD-50X. Once they have been imported, you can then assign them to the various pads to be triggered. Here's how to import a sample.
Before attempting to import samples, they must conform to the following criteria:
- Format - .wav
- Bit rate - 16 or 24 bit
- Sampling Frequency - 44.1kHz
- Length of each file: Maximum 180 seconds

The SD card must be formatted in the TD-50X before it can be used. TD-50X: Formatting an SD Card
- After formatting the SD card in the TD-50X, eject it and insert it into the computer.
- Transfer/copy your desired .wav files into the "IMPORT" folder on the SD card.
- Eject the SD card from the computer.
- Insert the SD card that contains the samples into the card slot on the left-side panel of the TD-50X.
- Press and hold the SHIFT button and then press the SETUP (USER SAMPLE) button.
- Press F1 (IMPORT).
- Use the cursor buttons to highlight the User sample that you want to import. Tip: You can preview each sample by pressing the F4 button after highlighting it.
- Press F5 (SELECT).
- Turn the main dial or press the + or - buttons to select the desired [empty] destination number for the sample to be imported to. There are a total of 500 locations available. Note: If you attempt to import into a location that already has a sample assigned, "User Sample Exists" will appear and you'll need to choose a different location.
- Press F5 (IMPORT).
- Cursor right to highlight "OK."
- Press ENTER.
