The following article with guide you through recording an Automix in real-time:
- Press the AUTOMIX button to turn Automix mode on--if the AUTOMIX button isn’t already solidly lit.

Hold down the SHIFT button and then press the AUTOMIX button to view the AUTOMIX screen.

Use the ZOOM cursor buttons and the TIME/VALUE dial to set the desired tracks to Automix Write mode.
Note: Be sure that each desired track’s box are solid--indicating that they are in “WRITE” mode. - Use the ZOOM cursor buttons and the TIME/VALUE dial to set the desired WRITING PARAMETERS so that there's a check mark next to the parameter:
For example: If you want to turn on and off an effect in a mix, place a checkmark next to "Aux Send" and then adjust the send level from a Track channel (e.g. Aux 1's send) in real-time. -
Press to rewind to the top of the project or move the now line to the location at which you want to begin recording Automix data.

While holding down the AUTOMIX button, press the red REC button—the AUTOMIX button flashes to show that Automix data can now be recorded.

Press the PLAY button and perform your mix that will be recorded as an Automix (i.e. move track faders, adjust send levels for Aux buses, adjust panning, etc). The changes you make are recorded onto the Automix tracks that you Write-enabled in step 3.

Press the STOP button when you’re done—Automix recording is automatically turned off.

When you’re done, hold down the SHIFT button and then press the AUTOMIX button to return to the AUTOMIX screen.

Use the ZOOM cursor buttons and the data dial to set the tracks to Automix Read mode.
Note: Be sure that each track’s box is surrounded by a black box--indicating that they are in “READ” mode. -
Press or move the now line to the location at which you started mixing.

Press PLAY to hear your automation.
