If you wish to use the A-Pro series controllers to control another MIDI device without being connected to a computer, you will need to set the MIDI I/F Switch setting to "OFF." This setting (when set to "ON") normally routes the MIDI signal to the USB connection and a computer (if connected), where it can be routed by the computer application. By setting this to "OFF," the A-Pro series will route the MIDI signal directly to the MIDI OUT jack.
1. Simultaneously press the ACT and < button to enter EDIT mode.
2. Use the Value Knob to select "MIDI Setting" on the screen, then press the Value Knob in to select this option.
3. Use the Value Knob to select "MIDI I/F Switch" on the screen, then press the Value Knob in to select this parameter.
4. Use the Value Knob to select "OFF" on the screen, then press the Value Knob in to confirm this setting.
You should now be able to use the A-Pro series controller to control another MIDI device directly.
