The following article contains troubleshooting information in the event that you're having trouble playing audio files on a USB flash drive. Be sure that the audio files that you're trying to play are compatible with the TD-9. The following is a list of audio file formats that the TD-9 supports:
- mp3 Files (Version 2.0 only) = 44.1kHz / 64kbps-320kbps
- .WAV files = 8,16, or 24 Bit / 44.1kHz
- Note: Any other file format is not compatible.
Additional Note: If you're sure you have a .WAV file or mp3 file that match this criteria and it still won't play in the TD-9, then the file may have embedded metadata, or "tags," which will prevent it from playing. This can happen with files that are exported from DAWs ("Digital Audio Workstations"), other audio programs, and/or sample libraries.
You can strip this extra information from the file by converting it to Apple Lossless or FLAC format. After removing the data, the files should play in the TD-9. You can use various free software programs (iTunes , audacity etc.) to perform this conversion.
