Backup
1. Hold down [ STEP2 ] and switch on the power.
2. Connect the computer to the TR-8's USB port by a USB cable.
3. Open the "TR-8" drive folder in your personal computer.
4. Copy TR-8 kit/pattern files in "BACKUP" directory into your personal computer.
KIT 1 - 16 : TR8_KIT1.PRMÅ`TR8_KIT16.PRM
PATTERN 1 - 16 : TR8_PTN1.PRMÅ`TR8_PTN16.PRM
5. After Copying the file is completed, disconnect the USB cable.
Windows : Right-click on the "TR-8" icon in My Computer and execute "Eject".
Mac : Drag the "TR-8" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
6. Turn the TR-8 power off.
Restore
1. Hold down [ STEP2 ] and switch on the power.
2. Connect the computer to the TR-8's USB port by a USB cable.
3. Open the "TR-8" drive folder in your personal computer.
4. Copy TR-8 kit/pattern files into "RESTORE" directory.
5. After Copying the file is completed, disconnect the USB cable.
Windows : Right-click on the "TR-8" icon in My Computer and execute "Eject".
Mac : Drag the "TR-8" icon to the Trash icon in the Dock.
6. Turn the TR-8 power off.
Instrument Gain Setting
1. Press [ KIT ] button
2. Turn [ TEMPO ] encoder with holding down each instrument buttons from [ BD ] to [ RC ]
Its range is from 0 to 200. (from -24dB to +24dB)
This parameter is stored with each kit.
Lock pattern data
Turn [ TEMPO ] encoder with holding down [ PTN SELECT ] button
to lock current pattern or not.
Any editing is erased when pattern is locked
in case of turning down the power or choosing another pattern.
Edit Pattern A/B with sequencer playing
Press [ A ] or [ B ] button with holding down [ TR-REC ] button.
Sync Reset
Press [ START/STOP ] button with holding down [ TAP ] button.
Playing pattern returns to top immediately.
Scatter 1 cycle on
Press [ ON ] with holding down [ DEPTH ] button.
Scatter is enable in current cycle only.
Improve roll function
The order of pressing instrument play button ([STEP1] - [STEP11])
and roll variation ([STEP12] - [STEP15]) buttons is free.
MIDI Local On/Off, MIDI Controller mode
1. Stop the sequencer.
2. Turn [ SCATTER ] encoder with holding down [ LAST STEP ] button.
LOCAL ON : it sounds by any operation and external midi message
LOCAL OFF : it sounds by only external midi message
MIDI CONTROLLER : it doesn't sound by any operation, only output midi message
MIDI velocity is variable by accent setting

Real time recording by external midi message
MIDI Off
No midi message is output when midi channel is set to OFF.
Scatter [ ON ] button mode
1. While holding down the [ PTN SELECT ] button, turn on the power.
2. Press [ STEP5 ]
ON : Unlatch
OFF : Latch (default)
MIDI play/stop message ignore or not
1. While holding down the [ PTN SELECT ] button, turn on the power.
2. Press [ STEP6 ]
ON : Only midi clock is received
OFF : Midi clock, play, stop messages are received (default)
