To create a split keyboard you will need to assign two or more Parts to receive on the same MIDI channel with different key ranges. For example, in a bass/piano split sound you might assign a bass sound to Part 1 and set its key range from C-1 to B-3 (the left side of the keyboard.) Then, you can assign a piano sound to Part 2 and set its key range from C-3 to G-9 (the right side of the keyboard.)
Use the following procedure to set the key range:
1. Press EDIT.
2. CURSOR to "SOUND" and press ENTER.
3. CURSOR to "PART" and press ENTER.
4. CURSOR to "MIDI" and press ENTER.
5. CURSOR to "KEY RANGE."
6. Use the PART LEFT and RIGHT buttons to select the desired PART.
7. Use the VALUE UP/DOWN buttons to set the low and high note ranges as desired.
8. Repeat steps 1-7 to set the key range for any additional Parts.
Once the key ranges are set, each of the Parts used in the above procedure should be set to receive on the same MIDI channel. Use the following procedure to set the appropriate MIDI channels:
1. Use the CURSOR RIGHT and LEFT buttons to select Rx Ch (receive channel) .
2. Use the PART LEFT and RIGHT buttons to select the desired Part.
3. Use the VALUE UP and DOWN buttons to select the desired MIDI channel.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 to set the receive channel for any additional Parts.
