Roland Intelligent Arranger products have advanced MIDI instructions (Control Changes, Program Changes, etc.) embedded in the Music Styles to make them sound as great as they do. When playing Intelligent Arranger products from their internal keyboards, this data is processed quickly and without error. High speed internal MIDI communications have a lot to do with the smoothness of the arranger functions.
When this data is transmitted through the "MIDI out" port and recorded in an external MIDI sequencer, and then subsequently played back to the Roland product via MIDI, it can present too much information for external MIDI communications to handle. This may result in notes being cut off, irregular timing, etc.
The solution to this problem is to filter out, edit or reduce some of the control changes or other excess data in the resulting sequencer file before playing it back.
