There are three ways in which a sample can play back when a pad is depressed or triggered from the pad sequencer or from the CDX-1's MIDI inputs,
GATE- The sample plays as long as the pad is being depressed. Retriggering the sample starts the sample over from its start without playing the sample all of the way through.
TRIGGER- The sample plays when a pad is depressed. The sample stops when the pad is depressed a second time. TRIGGER works much like an ON/OFF switch.
DRUM- Pressing a pad will play a sample one time from its beginning to its end.
To set the Pad Play type:
1) Press TEMPO MATCH
2) CURSOR to PARAM
3) Press YES/ENTER
4) CURSOR to "Pad Play"
5) Use the TIME/VALUE wheel to select the desired Pad Play Type.
