The Fantom Xa comes with 4MB of RAM standard. To see how much time you have for sampling, press [SAMPLING]. The screen will tell you how many MB are remaining.
Take that number and divide it by ten. The resulting number is how many stereo minutes you have to sample or record audio.
For example, if the sampling page says you have 3MB of RAM free, you can sample for approximately 0.3 minutes (or about 20 seconds) in stereo.
As you might expect, installing 512MB of RAM (+4MB internal gives you 516MB) will give you another 51.2 minutes in stereo.
If you sample in mono, you can effectively double your available sample time.
