The hard drive is divided into sections known as partitions. Each partition is labeled as an "IDE:?" Depending on the model and hard drive installed, you may find that you are only using a portion of your entire hard drive. To determine the size, you can use DRIVE SELECT, which is how you are able to switch between partitions of your hard drive and use the maximum amount of HD space available.
Depending on the size of you HD, you may have some of the options below. Each "IDE" is known as a partition,(Section) of you HD which can be used. Each partition could be considered an independant HD, and you can only work on one IDE at a time, but you can copy songs from one partition to another using DRIVE SELECT.
1- Press the SYSTEM button until the display shows "DRIVE SELECT?"
2- Press the ENTER/YES button.
3- Turn the dial to see how many partitions are available,
such as= IDE:0, IDE:1, IDE:2, IDE:3
4- After turning the dial to select the partion you want to work from, press ENTER/YES.
5- Press ENTER/YES to resond to "CHange to IDE:?"
6- Respond to "STORE CURRENT" with ENTER/YES.
