The JW-50s GS sound source contains many Variation Tones. Use the following
procedure to access the Variation Tones from the front panel:
1) Press TONE.
2) Press EDIT (F1).
3) CURSOR to "Source Tone" and use the VALUE DIAL to select the desired Tone.
4) CURSOR to "Variation" and use the VALUE DIAL to select the desired
Variation.
You can access the JW-50's Variation Tones via MIDI by using Controller 0 (Bank
Select) and program change messages. Use the following procedure to access the
Variation Tones via MIDI:
1) Send a Controller 0 message from your sequencer, and assign a value for the
bank you want to access. Capitol Tones are in bank 0, Variation Tones are in
banks 1 through 32. The MT-32 emulation Tones are in bank 127.*
2) Immediately following the Controller 0 message, send the desired program
change message.
