Preparing The GM-70 To Control A PRO-E:
- Press the GENERAL EDIT button and the GM-70's display will change to: ??A PROGRAM= ??
- Press the FUNCTION down button one time.
The MIDI mode will be flashing and it will either say [MONO] or [POLY]. If it does not say [POLY], use the VALUE buttons to reset it. - Press the FUNCTION down button one more time.
The MIDI channel assignment will begin to flash. If the Channel is not set to [1], use the VALUE buttons to
reset it. - Press the FUNCTION down button one time so that the [A] is flashing and use the VALUE up button to access branch [B].
- Use the FUNCTION and VALUE buttons to select [CHANNEL=4 POLY].
- Press the INDIVIDUAL EDIT button.

Use the FUNCTION button to scroll between string number [1/2/3/4/5/6] and string select [ON/OFF]. Turn the string select [OFF] on strings [1/2/3] so that only the low three strings trigger the arranger. The displays will look as follows:
A 1 OFF PG 0
A 2 OFF PG 0
A 3 OFF PG 0 - Press the FUNCTION button and the VALUE button to select branch [B]. B 3 ON PG 0

Use the FUNCTION button to scroll between string number [1/2/3/4/5/6] and string select [ON/OFF]. Turn the string select [OFF] on strings [4/5/6] so that only the high three strings play the upper/solo part. The displays will look as follows:
B 4 OFF PG 0
B 5 OFF PG 0
B 6 OFF PG 0 - We have now programmed the GM-70's external branches to control the PRO-E or RA-50. Use the write procedure, on page 20 of the GM-70 owners manual, to save this setup into a patch memory. You will then need to repeat this procedure for every patch that you use to control the Intelligent Arranger.
