The only way to access the internal and user performances that reside inside the JV-1010 is through MIDI, by sending Bank Select and Program Change messages on the Performance Control Channel. Internal, user and expansion board patches can all be accessed from the front panel. Internal and user performance memories can not be accessed from the front panel.
Use the following steps to set the Performance Control Channel:
- Press VOLUME and VALUE simultaneously to enter the Edit Mode.
- Turn the CATEGORY/BANK knob to RHYTHM&SFX.
- Turn the VALUE knob to select the desired MIDI channel.
- Press VOLUME and VALUE simultaneously to exit Edit Mode.
Once the Performance Control Channel has been set, Bank Select and Program Change messages can now be sent to select performances via MIDI on the channel selected.
The Bank Select Messages for the JV-1010 are as follows:
- - - - - - -MSB (CC0) - - LSB (CC32)
User: - - - - 80 - - - - - - 0
Preset A: - - 81 - - - - - - 0
Preset B: - - 81 - - - - - - 1
NOTE: If you do not send a Bank Select Message or send the incorrect message, the JV-1010 will default to the USER bank. This means that if you have created User Performances in Sound Diver and would like to select them, you should only have to send Program Changes on the Performance Control Channel to access them.
