Please obtain the latest R-1 firmware and update your R-1 to fix all known bugs and add new features.
How to update the R-1 Firmware:
1. Plug in the CompactFlash card & AC Adapter to the R-1.
2. Power on the unit and connect the USB cable to your computer.
3. Find the "Removable Disk" icon for the R-1 and double click on it.
Windows: "Removable Disk" will be found as a drive under "My Computer".
Macintosh: A new drive icon should appear on your desktop.
4. Make a new folder called "temporary" on the R-1 Removable Disk by right
clicking (or ctrl-click), New, Folder, type "temporary" and hit enter.
5. Click the link below and then click "Save". Either save this file to the
"temporary" folder on the R-1 Disk, or save this file and then copy
(drag and drop) it to the temporary folder on the R-1 Removable Disk.

6. Unplug the USB cable from the R-1.
7. Press the Menu button on the R-1 and use the wheel to scroll to
"13. Update Firmware".
8. Press Enter on the R-1 three times and wait for the display to show
"Completed!" and return to the main record menu.
9. Power Off the R-1 and Power it back on.
