RC-50: How do I restore the factory settings?

You can perform a Factory Reset on the BOSS RC-50 to restore the system settings or all patches to their factory defaults.

Note: Selecting PATCH deletes all phrase data in all patches. When Preset Protect is set to ON, the data in Patch Numbers 1–5 is retained.

1. Turn off the power.

2. While holding down [PLAY MODE] and [LOOP SYNC], turn on the power.
   The Factory Reset range setting screen appears.

   To cancel the Factory Reset, press [EXIT].

3. Press PARAMETER [◀] or [▶] to move the cursor, and turn the PATCH/VALUE dial to select the range of settings you want to restore:
   • SYSTEM: Restores the system parameters to their factory defaults. The Preset Protect setting is not initialized.
   • PATCH: Initializes all patches and deletes all phrase data.

4. Press [WRITE] to execute the Factory Reset.
   When SYSTEM is selected, the system parameters are restored to their factory defaults.
   When PATCH is selected, all patches are initialized.

   When the Factory Reset is complete, the RC-50 returns to the Play screen.
