If you don't hear your guitar's normal pickup sound on the GR-55, check these in order:
- GK pickup select switch: Set it to MIX.
- NORMAL PICKUP tone switch and level: Press [EDIT], use the PAGE buttons to select the TONE tab, select NORMAL PICKUP, and turn it ON with the dial. Also check the TONE LEVEL value shown next to NORMAL PICKUP on this screen; if it's at 0, raise it.
- If you're listening through the GUITAR OUT jack instead of the OUTPUT L/R jacks: Check the GUITAR OUT source setting (MASTER > GUITAR OUT, or SYSTEM > GUITAR OUT). If it's set to OFF or MODELING only, the normal pickup won't be sent to GUITAR OUT even if step 2 is done. Set it to NORMAL PU or BOTH.
- If none of the above helps: Check whether the patch has CTL FUNCTION set to TONE SW (MASTER > PEDAL/GK CTL). Some patches turn the normal pickup off when the CTL pedal is in a certain state, which overrides the TONE page setting.
