The FP-4F has a SESSION PARTNER feature that provides backing rhythms with built-in chord changes. You can also turn off the automatic chord changes and play your own chord changes instead. Use the following procedure to turn off the automatic chord change feature. This will split the keyboard so that the chords you play with your left hand will control the key that the Session Partner is playing in:
1. While holding down the SESSION PARTNER START/STOP button, press the SESSION PARTNER VARIATION button to select "MANL."
NOTE: This splits the keyboard, activates the SESSION PARTNER and puts it into the stand-by mode. The SESSION PARTNER START/STOP button will begin flashing indicating that it is ready to begin.
2. Play a chord with your left hand to start the SESSION PARTNER. As you play different chords with your left hand, the SESSION PARTNER will follow along in the key that you select.
TIP: If you would rather play chords with either or both hands, press SPLIT so it is not lit. The SESSION PARTNER will now recognize chords played anywhere on the keyboard.
3. To turn the SESSION PARTNER automatic chord mode back on, hold down the SESSION PARTNER START/STOP button and press the SESSION PARTNER VARIATION button to select "AUTO."
