The following is a list of guidelines to help you choose a compatible SD card for the MICRO BR:
- Secure Digital (SD)
- 32MB - 1GB capacity. While cards larger than 1GB can sometimes be formatted by the MICRO BR, they are not officially compatible and can cause issues. Use only 1GB card sizes or smaller.
- Before you use an SD memory card in the MICRO BR, be sure to initialize it in the card first. Failure to initialize may result in the card being inoperable. You may find the procedure for initializing a memory card here: How to Initialize (Format) the MICRO BR's SD Card
- We have not had reports of card speed compatibility issues. However, it's recommended to use cards that are 80X speed or slower--as these are the type of cards originally tested with the MICRO BR.
- Low-cost or off-brand SD cards might not perform properly on the MICRO-BR--due to low quality. Using name brands such as Panasonic, SanDisk, Lexar, TOSHIBA, and Kingston is recommended.
- MicroSD card adapters are not compatible and will not function properly.
- Cards can be purchased from most computer or electronic stores or online. Roland does not manufacture or sell these card.
Note:
- Roland/BOSS no longer carries these cards to sell directly--due to the age of the product.
- Unless the card was originally included with the product or was purchased from Roland/BOSS directly, we cannot guarantee compatibility with cards that have a BOSS logo on them.
- If the speed specification information is not listed in the product information, you may want to contact the seller of the card you are purchasing to acquire this information--even if the card contains a "BOSS" logo.
