If USB audio or MIDI is not working on the SPD-SX and SPD-SX Special Edition (SE), check the following points.
- Use a USB cable that supports data transfer. Charge-only cables will not work.
- Verify that USB MODE is set to AUDIO/MIDI. The factory default is WAVE MGR, which does not support USB audio or MIDI. To change the setting, go to MENU then SETUP then OPTION then USB MODE, and select AUDIO/MIDI. Restart the unit to apply the change.
- Verify that the USB driver is installed. Download the latest driver from the Roland website (roland.com), or refer to "Installing the USB Driver" in the SPD-SX Owner's Manual.
