The VS recorder has three separate mixer modes, but only one set of Faders and Select buttons. The Master Fader Edit button indicator light shows the current status of the mixer.
Orange = Input Mixer. In this mode the Faders and Select buttons correspond directly to the input jacks.
This mode is used for setting recording levels, adding EQ or effects to an input signal or routing an input to a recording track.
Green = Track mixer. In this mode the Faders and Select buttons correspond to the recording tracks. This mode is used for playing back, adding EQ or effects to recording tracks and bouncing tracks.
Red = Effect return/Stereo in mixer. In this mode channel #6 becomes Stereo In. Channels 7 & 8 become Effects 1 & 2
FX returns. This mode is most commonly used for routing the effects returns to either be recorded from input or during track bouncing or mixing down.
Note: Holding SHIFT and pressing the Master Fader Edit button takes you into the Master Block section of the mixer.
