DR-880: Specifying a Drum Kit in a Pattern

A “kit” is a collection of 60 drum instruments and one bass tone that is selected as a single set.

Each pattern in the DR-880 automatically uses the kit that was selected when the pattern was created or saved. When you switch patterns, the kit changes as well.

If you want to use a specific kit with a user pattern, follow the steps below to assign it.

1. Press [EXIT] a few times to confirm you are not in Edit mode.
2. Hold [SHIFT] and press [SONG] repeatedly until "PATTERN USER" appears in the upper left hand corner of the display.
3. Press [KIT].
   This is where you select the kit you would like to store in the pattern.
4. Turn the [VALUE] dial to select the desired kit.
5. Press [EXIT].
6. Save the pattern to keep the kit assignment.
