VK-8: Changing MIDI Transmit Channels

By default, the VK-8's MIDI channels are set as follows;

CONTROL MIDI CH - CH 1
UPPER ORGAN MIDI - CH 1
LOWER ORGAN MIDI - CH 3
PEDAL ORGAN MIDI - CH 2
OTHER TONES MIDI - CH 4
DRUM MIDI - CH 10
SPRINGSHOCK MIDI - CH 9

Use the following steps to Change the MIDI channel for a part:

1) While holding down HARMONIC BAR(UPPER) and (PEDAL), press the REVERB button.

2) Press one of the flashing 1-8 buttons to select the part that you want to change the MIDI channel for.

Note- When the PRESET button is not lit -

Button 4 - For the Control MIDI Channel.
Button 5 - For the UPPER ORGAN MIDI Channel.
Button 6 - For the LOWER ORGAN Channel.
Button 7 - For the PEDAL ORGAN MIDI Channel.
Button 8 - For the OTHER TONES MIDI Channel.

When the PRESET button is lit-

Button 1 - For the DRUM MIDI Channel.
Button 2 - For the SPRING SHOCK MIDI Channel.

3) Press a key in the range of C2-D#3 to specify the new MIDI channel. Channel number 1 begins with C2 and the numbers ascend in order (chromatically) to D#3.

Note- Channel numbers cannot be shared. If you attempt to select a channel that another part is already using, then the change will not take affect.

4) Press WRITE to store the change.
