The included Sonar VS recording software provides powerful streamlined recording, editing, mixing, and finalizing of music.
Note: The V-STUDIO 100 Driver, VS Production Pack Software, and SONAR VS Software must be installed prior to following the setup below. If you have not installed this software, follow the instructions found in the “V-STUDIO 100: V-STUDIO 100 Software and Driver Installation (Windows)" or "V-STUDIO 100, VS-100: Software and Driver Installation (Mac OS X)"
VS-100 Setup:
- On the VS-100, press and hold the DISPLAY button until the “UTILITY” menu appears on the screen.
- Use the CURSOR/VALUE dial to choose “DAW Select” and then press on the dial.
- Turn the CURSOR/VALUE dial to select “Sonar” and then press on the dial. The VS-100 is now configured for Sonar Software.
- Use the CURSOR/VALUE dial to select “Storage” and then press on the dial.
- Turn the CURSOR/VALUE dial to select “OFF” and then press on the dial.
- Press the DISPLAY button to return to the main screen.
Sonar VS Software Setup:
- Connect the V-STUDIO 100 to your computer via USB.
- Launch the Sonar VS software.
- Click on “Options” at the top of the screen, and then select “Audio…”.
- Select the “General” tab and then use the associated drop down menus to make the following settings:
A. Playback Timing Master: ”VS-100 OUT 1-2.”
B. Record Timing Master: “VS100 IN 1-2.” - Select the “Advanced” tab.
- Under the “Driver Mode,” select ASIO and then click “OK.”
- Click on “Options” at the top of the screen, and then select “MIDI Devices…”.
- In the “Inputs” and “Outputs” lists, select the following VS-100 MIDI devices.
- Click OK to close the “MIDI Devices” dialog and return to the “Controllers/Surfaces” dialog.
- Click on “Options” at the top of the screen, and then select “Controller/Surface Settings…”.
- Click the "Add New Controller/Surface" button
to open the “Controller/Surface Settings” dialog.
- In the “Controller/Surface” box, select “VS-100”.
- Assign both “Input Port” and “Output Port” to “CONTROL (VS-100).”
- Click "OK" to close the “Controller/Surface Settings” dialog.
- In the “Controllers/Surfaces” dialog, select the “WAI” and “ACT” check boxes and then click "Close".
The V-STUDIO 100 is now configured to be used with Sonar VS software.
