BR-800: How to Master (Mix Down) to Two Tracks

You will need to mix down all of your tracks to a stereo pair of tracks before you can export your song as a .WAV file to a computer. Here's how.

1. Press MENU.
2. Cursor to "MASTERING," and then press ENTER.
3. Turn the dial clockwise to set MASTERING to the ON position.
4. Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen. The display shows the track(s) to which you'll be mastering underneath the word "MASTERING." By default, “TR78-VMST” is displayed for the stereo virtual mastering track belonging to Tracks 7 and 8.
   
5. Press the ZERO button to return to the beginning of your song.
6. Play back your song, and use the track faders to adjust the volume balance.
   
   
   
7. Press the ZERO button to return to the beginning of your song.
8. Press REC, and then press PLAY.
9. When the song has finished playing, press STOP. A "PREVIEW" window will appear.
10. Press PLAY to hear your mastered (mixdown) track. A stereo mix of your song has now been recorded onto TR78-VMST.
11. Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen.
12. To turn off Mastering:
    a. Press MENU.
    b. Cursor to "MASTERING," and then press ENTER.
    c. Turn the dial clockwise to set MASTERING to the OFF position.
    d. Press EXIT twice to return to the main screen.

To hear the mastered (mixdown) tracks:

1. Lower the volume of all track faders except for Track 7/8 and the MASTER fader.

2. Press the TRACK button.
3. Cursor to "V-TRACK" and then press ENTER.
4. Use the right cursor button to select track "7.8" and then turn the data dial to change its V-Track ("V-Tr") to "MST" or "VMST".
   
   
   
5. Press PLAY to hear the mastered (mixdown) tracks.
6. If you would like to put track 7/8's v.track back to it's original setting, turn the data dial to change track "7.8" V-track from "MST" to it's original V-Tr number (for example: V-Tr "1").
   
7. Press EXIT twice.
