The BK-7m has many options for its "chord recognition" function. If none of these options match your playing style, you may wish to use a footswitch to turn "chord recognition" on and off. This way, when chord recognition is turned off, you may play in the style you prefer without having to worry about the BK-7m mis-interpreting your performance as a "chord recognition" trigger. Use the following procedure to set the footswitch to chord recognition control:
1. Press MENU so it is lit.
2. Turn the VALUE DIAL to select "Global" and press the DIAL to enter.
3. Turn the VALUE DIAL to select "Pedal" and press the DIAL to enter.
4. Turn the VALUE DIAL to select "Chord Rec Off" and press the DIAL to enter.
5. Turn the VALUE DIAL to select "Save Global" and press the DIAL to enter.
6. Turn the VALUE DIAL to select "YES" and press the DIAL to display "Executing" followed by "OK ... Write complete."
7. Press EXIT several times to return to the main menu.
NOTE: By stepping on the footswitch chord recognition will be disabled. Releasing the footswitch activates chord recognition.
